IOKAI SHIATSU

Since 1987 the Amsterdam School of Iokai Shiatsu has offered high quality basic and professional training in Iokai Meridian Shiatsu™. The Amsterdam School is part of a European network of Iokai schools. Here in the Netherlands, a four-year professional training program is offered which leads to a Dutch diploma and an Iokai International Certificate. A significant aspect of this education is the Eastern tradition of transmission from master to student: I shin den shin (my heart, your heart). This to safeguard the true meaning of this unique teaching style. The distinguishing features of our school are a great competence in the practice of Iokai Shiatsu as well many years of experience and joy in its transmission to others. There is an intensive personal supervision of our students. Our goals are:

•To transmit the craft and the art of Iokai Shiatsu through well-structured education

•To work for the full recognition and integration of shiatsu as a health care profession in modern society

• To offer information about shiatsu and in a broader perspective over preventive medicine and lifestyle choices.
