FOURTH YEAR Clinical Integration The integration and clinical application of theory and practice is the focus of the fourth and last year of the training. Everything is directed towards the increasing self-sufficiency of the student in clinical work. Because we spend a substantial part of this year in the clinical situation, we ask each student to invite around ten patients to the clinical sessions where the students give them shiatsu treatment under staff supervision. The acquired skills are repeatedly put into practice in this real life situation. As a part of this practice with patients the questioning techniques and procedure, patient case administration and reporting are thoroughly outlined. The information gathered about a patient is related to the supporting theoretical and practical framework of meridian and organ function, and the Eight Principles. During this year we work on the clarity and engagement of the therapist in the therapeutic Finally there are a few seminar days spent on Professional organisation and orientation: |
