Kazunori Sasaki
Honorary teacher and President of the European Academy for Iokai Shiatsu. Sasaki Sensei teaches in the second, third and fourth years of the Training. Beyond his many years of experience with Masunaga Sensei, his ongoing research in meridian shiatsu is unequalled.
Eloise Sewell
General director of the School. She is also senior teacher and founder of the Amsterdam School of Iokai Shiatsu. She is trained in Iokai Shiatsu, classical acupuncture and Cranio-sacral therapy. After many years of experience as a teacher, facilitator, counselor, and therapist, she became interested in shiatsu in 1978. Shortly afterwards she met Kazunori Sasaki who was introducing Iokai Shiatsu in Europe. Since that period she has been devoted to the Iokai tradition and style, which is distinguished by meridian treatment as a window to our essential humanness. She devotes her life to the integration of shiatsu therapy as a recognized health care profession in modern society.
Ans Harmsen has been practicing Iokai Shiatsu since 1987. She received her training from Kazunori Sasaki and was certified in 1993. Three years later in 1996 she completed her acupuncture school. She has traveled several times to China to Beijing and Kunming receiving training in acupuncture and child massage. Her shiatsu practice is in Amersfoort. She teaches in the Basic training.
Gem Buur works as a physical therapist at a health center in Almere and runs a rebalancing/ counseling practice in Amsterdam. He has been a teacher bodywork, Anatomy and Physiology for years at the School of Natural Healing in Bloemendaal. He teaches Anatomy as part of the Western Medical Basic Knowledge for the Amsterdam School.
Lex Kiers graduated from the Iokai Shiatsu Academy of the Netherlands and is active in the Amsterdam School for Iokai Shiatsu as teacher of the basic training. Besides his job as a team leader at an accountancy-tax advisory firm, he runs a shiatsu practice in The Hague and practices teaches Aikido.
