Masterclass: Shiatsu during pregnancy
Ki and Essence during the trimesters of pregnancy
Working with pregnant women is my great passion. It is so valuable to be able to accompany them during this special period in their lives, to witness all those subtle changes and the immense power of the feminine essence.
I would like to share my knowledge and love of this specialty within the shiatsu field with you in the masterclass ‘Shiatsu during Pregnancy’.
During this two-day masterclass at the Iokai Shiatsu Dojo, we will delve deeper into the changes the body undergoes. You will learn how to alleviate common complaints such as nausea and fatigue with Shiatsu. But we go beyond just treating symptoms; we also focus on stimulating body awareness and increasing confidence in extraordinary vessels one’s own body and strength in the expectant mother, specifically using specific techniques as a complement to the classical meridians. Their direct connection to essence, the source, extraordinary vessels plays a crucial role in the development of new life, and are therefore the perfect gateway to support the profound changes during pregnancy. With shiatsu we can tap into the deep connection with our own body, increasing the confidence of the expectant mother in her own intuition and strength.
Our support for pregnant women extends beyond treatments on the futon. Therefore, we also discuss exercises and self-shiatsu that the expectant mother can use at home to prepare for childbirth.
The partner can play a valuable role in this, providing an active contribution to the well-being of the expectant mother. This will also be discussed.
If you are just starting to treat pregnant women and would like many tools to do this in more depth, or if you are already seeing pregnant women on your futon regularly and would like to deepen your knowledge, then definitely come and join us.
We’ll start with the theory behind Ki and Essence around pregnancy, but this Masterclass is primarily hands-on, in other words practical. There’s plenty of room to ask your own questions, so feel free to bring them along.
Furthermore, I offer the possibility of continuing contact after the Masterclass for questions or interprofessional discussions, so that we can continue to learn from each other.
I would like to welcome you, Tanja van der Schaaf, to September 27 and 28 in Amsterdam!
