Hara and Rug diagnosis masterclass

By Christine Breton

Hara and Rug diagnosis

During the fourth year of the training program, Christine Breton will deliver a three-day masterclass on Hara diagnosis and Rug diagnosis. This masterclass is part of the program for fourth-year students and is also open to a limited number of graduated Iokai Shiatsu therapists.

In these three days, Christine returns to something very essential within Iokai Shiatsu: our ability to perceive the other's Ki and truly connect with them.

Because the more diagnostic techniques you learn, the greater the tendency to go looking. Is this Kyo? Is this Jitsu? What life function am I sensing? Does what I perceive actually match reality?

Christine is actually taking you back to feeling yourself.

Develop trust in what you feel

Step by step, we delve deeper into the Hara diagnosis and the Rug diagnosis. Not from the idea that you need to get to the right answer as quickly as possible, but by first learning to listen with your hands.

How do you feel when you make contact? What changes under your hands? What happens when you try to less define what you should feel and give more space to what actually can be felt?

This way of working creates more and more confidence in your own perception.

The Hara and Rug diagnoses are not separate techniques, but ways to connect with the client and understand what is happening in the body and in the Ki.

The empathetic approach of Iokai

The way Christine works closely aligns with the empathetic approach that is so characteristic of Iokai Shiatsu.

You learn not only to look at Kyo and Jitsu or at individual diagnostic areas. You primarily explore how to be present from your own center, how to observe the other person without wanting to change anything immediately, and how information can be generated from that contact that can guide your treatment.

In addition, we practice a lot. You treat others, you get treated yourself, and this way you experience both sides of the diagnosis.

It is precisely through re-experiencing, comparing, and jointly exploring that a refinement often emerges that is difficult to learn solely from books or theory.

For whom

This masterclass is part of the fourth year of the Iokai Shiatsu training program. Additionally, a limited number of places are available for Iokai Alumni who want to deepen their Hara and Rug diagnosis or re-explore it from a basic level.

Whether you’ve only been working in practice for a short time or have been treating patients for years: sometimes it’s valuable to return to the essence. Less searching for what you think you should feel and learning to trust what your hands are telling you again.

Maximum number of participants

In addition to the participating students, there is space for a maximum of 8 other participants.

Number of continuing education credits

For this refresher course you will receive 18 NAP.
