Some time ago I posted a blog about the Zen of running. With an explanation of how running, blood circulation, and spirit are interconnected. In recent weeks, I have been treating clients who have little energy (Ki). They spend a large part of the day at home, not getting active. They also have difficulty getting started. This brought me back to the importance of exercise!
In Eastern medicine, Ki and blood are inextricably linked. Ki makes blood able to move, and when blood moves, there is Ki. When blood doesn’t move, there is no Ki. When there is little Ki, it is difficult for blood to move. Through exercise, blood becomes active. Then Ki is also in motion. When Ki is in motion, we feel more active, better, and there is motivation and a desire to do things. And when blood is in motion, the tissues and organs become better nourished. And that structurally generates more Ki again.
In short, a plea for sports and exercise!
